TrueVent

TrueVent is an economical method to ensure proper air circulation while controlling condensation. Ideal for new home construction and home improvement.

TrueVent provides an easy and economical method to allow unrestricted roof ventilation while minimizing heat loss. By reducing heat loss, TrueVent saves you money. By maintaining ventilation, TrueVent protects the integrity of your roof system - saving you even more money.

TrueVent is manufactured from TrueFoam Expanded Polystyrene (EPS), a cost-effective, durable and environmentally benign insulation material. Essentially, each TrueVent unit is a shallow, 4' long EPS trough which prevents insulation from blocking eave vents. It also reduces condensation in the attic, controls ice build-up and permits maximum attic insulation thickness.

In new and existing construction, TrueVents are stapled to the underside of the roof sheathing between rafters, extending over the ceiling insulation. To prevent blown or loose-fill insulation from falling into the soffit, blanket insulation is then packed around the TrueVent and at the plate.

Like other insulation products in the TrueFoam EPS system, TrueVent is unaffected by moisture, mildew and rot. It won't twist, warp or delaminate after installation.

The bottom line: TrueVent allows necessary ventilation, reduces condensation and enhances the comfort of your home.

TrueVent is part of an integrated system of TrueFoam insulation products designed for cost effectiveness, durability and versatility. Truefoam insulation products can substantially reduce heating costs while protecting the integrity and long-term comfort of your home.

Attic Installation is Easy

For best results, install TrueVent between roof rafters that are 16" apart. Where rafters are 24" apart, two TrueVents should be used for maximum ventilation.

1. For new construction, install TrueVents to the underside of the roof sheathing before finished ceiling is installed. Place vent between the roof rafters and slide down into the soffit area. Use 9/16" staples at 6" centers in each flange to hold in place. Blanket insulation material should be packed around the vent and at the plate to prevent blown or loose-fill insulation from falling into the soffit area.

2. For existing contruction, place the TrueVent between the roof rafters and slide down the underside of the roof sheathing over the existing insulation material in the soffit area. Use 9/16" staples at 6" centers in each flange to hold it in place. Blanket insulation material should be repacked around the vent and at the plate to prevent blown or loose-fill from falling into the soffit area.
